Cells
Human body is organized in serval levels , from the simplest to the most complex.
Additional Notes:
Cell theory :- All living things are made up of cells.
- Cells are the smallest working units of all living things .
- All cells come from preexisting cells through cell division.
Cell Membrane :
- Also known as Plasma Membrane
- Outer membrane of cell that control movement in and out of the cell.
- Double layer made up of two layer of phospholipids with protein & sugar ambedded in them.
Cell wall:
- Most commonly found in plant cells & bacteria
- Supports & protects cell
Organelles:
Nucleus:
- Largest organelle
- Directs cell activities
- Separated from cytoplasm by nuclear membrene
- Contains genetic material -DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid)
Chromosomes:
- In nucleus
- Made up of DNA
- Contain instructions for traits & characteristics
Nuclear Membrane:
- Surrounds nucleus
- Made up of two layers
- Opening allow material to enter and leave nucleus
Nucleolus:
- Inside nucleus
- Contains RNA to build proteins
Cytoplasm:
- Gel-like mixture
- Surrounded by cell membrane
- Contains hereditary material
Endoplasmic Reticulam:
- Moves materials around in cell
- Smooth Type:lacks ribosomes
- Rough Type :ribosomes embedded in surface
Ribosomes:
- Each cell contains thousand
- Helps in protein synthesis
Mitochondria:
- Produces energy through chemical reactions-breaking down fats & carbohydrates
- Recycles and decomposes proteins,fats & carbohydrates
- Also known as powerhouse of the cell
Golgi Bodies:
- Protein packaging plant
- Move material within the cell
- Move material out of the cell
Lysosomes:
- Digestive plant for protein, fat & carbohydrates
- Transports undigested material to cell membrane for removal
- Known as suicidal bangs
- Tissue : clusters of cells performing a similer function .
